In an interview held during the ongoing international break, Granit Xhaka heaped praise on new Arsenal manager Unai Emery.

The Swiss international made a transfer from Borussia Monchengladbach in 2016 but struggled to impress fans while plying his trade under Arsene Wenger.

He was seen as an amateur because of the frequency at which he committed fouls and got booked. The story has since changed.

Arsenal appointed Emery after the end of last season and he has since then brought a new beginning to the club. We have experienced changes in how things are done and also seen a number of players step up their game.

One of such players is Xhaka. He admitted that the boss has been influential in his improvement in midfield and aims for more.

“We needed some time to get to know the character and philosophy of the new manager", he said. "It is going well and I am improving.

“On a tactical level, the manager has really helped me. But we can still improve.”

Having featured in all of Arsenal's eight league games of which they have won six, the midfielder has scored one and assisted one.

Xhaka will be hoping to build on his recent fine form as the Gunners look to continue dominating following nine straight wins in all competitions.

It will be Arsenal vs Leicester City at the Emirates Stadium on October 22, shortly after the international break.

I can't wait for the boring break to end. Yes, the break is important but club action is importanter. Lol!
