Arsene Wenger has revealed how he had to stop the Arsenal team bus so as to vomit after a defeat to his side.
The Frenchman terminated his 22-year reign with the club at the end of last season and during his stay, he recorded a series of successes which included three Premier League titles and seven FA Cup trophies.
Despite all these, he never had it all smooth judging by a statement issued by him in an interview with Richard Keys of bein Sports.
When asked if it was true that he once ordered the team bus to stop in order to vomit after a bad loss, he answered in the affirmative. He made it clear that he took and still takes defeats more serious than we all thought.
“I take defeats very badly", the 2003/04 boss of the Invincibles said.
“That’s something that I noticed over life, I would say I reproached myself why I cannot live a bit better with losing.
“And that is the consistent during my career. I must say yes, I did vomit. I did sometimes.
“When you had the winter break and we lost before the winter break I would not com out of my home for three days.
"At the end of the day, I wonder ‘am I crazy or not?’ Because it’s a sacrifice of your life basically. But that’s how it is and that’s how my personality is."
Wenger is still cooling off but will consider taking up a job somewhere in the near future. It could be as a main coach, assistant or a member of the backroom crew.
