"This Is the Kid Who Made Me Leave Arsenal" - Vieira

vieira says fabregas made him leave arsenal

Ex-club skipper, Cesc Fabregas, has narrated a hilarious tale of one of his former Arsenal teammates, Patrick Vieira.

These two were together in North London at a time when the Gunners were seen as very serious title contenders.

Cesc left La Masia, the Barcelona youth academy, for the Emirates Stadium where he quickly established himself as one to look out for.

He later left made a return to Barcelona before returning to England on a deal with Chelsea in June 2014.

Vieira, on the other hand, was already an integral part of Arsene Wenger's team which he left for the Serie A in 2005.

The Frenchman now coaches Nice in the Ligue 1 where Fab plays for Monaco and in a recent interview, the latter told a funny story of what occurred when they met earlier in the season.

"I saw Patrick Vieira when we played against Nice with Monaco," he told Nice-Matin.

"It was very funny because I met him in the locker room before the match, he was with the President of Nice and he said to him while looking at me: 'President, this is the kid who made me leave Arsenal'."

The 31-year-old also talked of his career so far while also stating he was not happy leaving the English League.

"I am a competitor first and foremost," he continued.

"I will be able to say at the end of my career that I have experienced all the situations in a club, the top and the fight.

"I was sad at leaving London and the Premier League it represents 10 years of my life but also very excited to discover a new challenge probably the hardest of my career.

"I have never been afraid of challenges."
