Ryan Giggs has refused to blame Unai Emery for Arsenal's recent misfortunes which have put a big dent to their Champions League qualification hopes.
The Spaniard endured a gory sight as his side were whipped 3-1 by a hungry Wolves side on Wednesday night.
Three days before that, it was a surprise 3-2 home loss to Crystal Palace in what we could term a show of errors from the North London side.
As it stands, the manager is on the verge of replicating what his predecessor did in the last two seasons - Arsene Wenger could not get his side into the top four.
This looming possibility has made several fans lash out at Emery but Giggs feels he has done remarkably well since joining in May 2018.
The Wales manager's assessment is found on the fact that Unai has managed to survive in his initial season in the Premier League despite having players who haven't been consistent defensively
Giggs told Premier League Productions: “I think he’s done a remarkable job with the defenders he’s got.
“He’s got talented midfielders, talented forward players, but you saw in some of them goals - they just aren’t quite good enough at the back.
“He got a lot of stick when they had a tough start, he stuck with how they wanted to play playing out from the back and they’ve got the rewards from that.
“I think he’s done a fantastic job. But the away form is a big worry for them.
All hopes for Champions League qualification is not yet lost for Arsenal. Their rivals who are also battling for the place have not done better than them in recent times thereby leaving the contest wide open.
Another option they have is to win the Europa League to earn an automatic qualification to Europe's elite club competition.
They will be playing one of Emery's former sides, Valencia, in the semi-finals next month.
