Mixed Atmosphere as Arsenal Suffer Massive Injury Blow

Arsenal recorded a 2-1 win over Manchester City at the Emirates Stadium on Monday night with goals from Theo Walcott and Olivier Giroud while Mesut Ossist assisted both goals. This brought joy to the Arsenal camp but unfortunately, there is this news that will surely make fans shiver.

Arsene Wenger after that victory made a revelation which will send cold through the spine of supporters and it is regarding the fitness of Alexis Sanchez. The forward has suffered a setback on his way to full recovery.

Sanchez sustained a hamstring injury against Norwich City in November and initial scans revealed he will be out for long. The story changed along the line as further tests passed the Chilean international fit to return to the squad and he was even being tipped to feature against Manchester City.

Unfortunately, we will have to wait a bit longer to see the 2015 Copa America winner back in action. From the manager's revelation, Alexis should be back close to mid-January, around that when the Gunners will visit Anfield for a clash against Liverpool.

His absence has not really been disastrous so far as Arsenal have won all four games without him but he is still no doubt a very vital figure in the team. This is the time when players like him need to be back, considering the fact that we are drawing close to the period when we have to play too many games within few days.

This season, Sanchez has scored six league goals and assisted one in 14 appearances. He also has three goals and four assists in the Champions League.
