Football expert Tancredi Palmieri has revealed via the Daily Express that Arsenal are on the verge of signing a player from Leicester City. Jamie Vardy? No, not him!

According to him, the Gunners have on many occasions met with the club over the possibility of them securing the signature of Riyad Mahrez who was so influential in their title win last season.

A number of meetings have been held between Arsenal and the player's representatives and as it stands, the midfielder's camp want him to make such a life-changing switch to North-London and this has put Arsenal in pole position to get him in the near future.

Via his Twitter account, Palmer tweeted: “Arsenal have bid €32m (£25m) for Mahrez. Arsenal, before bidding for Mahrez, had several meeting with the player’s entourage and the player is open for moving.”

Although Leicester City are trying all they could to keep all their stars for the coming season, there are reports that Mahrez is keen on a move away from the King Power Stadium.

The Algerian international was voted as the PFA Player of the Year as a result of his outstanding performance all through the campaign.

His addition to the Arsenal team will be one which will lead to better things for the red and white outfit.
